Selco Bradford celebrates anniversary

A BRADFORD builders merchant celebrated its 15-year anniversary by welcoming Lord Mayor Councillor Gerry Barker into the branch as part of a day of celebration.

Selco Builders Warehouse, based on Tong Street, first opened its doors in 2008 and today stands as one of the company’s 75 UK branches.

To mark the landmark, Selco held a day of celebration which included a visit from Councillor Barker who met customers and colleagues.

A charity raffle and cake sale were held in aid of Cancer Research UK while there was a special darts competition held for customers as part of the company’s partnership with the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and a trade day supported by a number of Selco’s suppliers.

Bradford branch manager Dave Penney said: “We’ve been a big part of the local community for 15 years and it was great to be able to mark the occasion with an in-branch celebration event.

“We wanted our customers and colleagues — who have both been a big part of the branch’s success — to be able to celebrate with us and it was fantastic to welcome the Lord Mayor along too.

“We’ve had a fantastic 15 years in Bradford serving local tradespeople going about their jobs in and around the city and we look forward to many more years being at the heart of the community.”

With hundreds of trade brands always in stock, Selco’s 75 UK branches are firmly focused on helping tradespeople complete their jobs as quickly and effectively as possible.

As well as offering trade services, Selco also has a strong digital presence including Click & Deliver and Click & Collect services and a new app — as well as a ‘Dial & Deliver’ telephone service — to make life as convenient as possible for tradespeople.
