ROTPUNKT, an award winning designer and leading manufacturer of climate friendly German kitchen furniture celebrates the art of self-expression, as its iconic vertical groove door range, Memory RI, is commissioned to create a lifestyle friendly kitchen for a beautiful villa in Kolding, Denmark.
For more than 14 years, modern homeowner Julie Rytter from Denmark has been buying, restoring, and renovating old houses — and always with a great attention to detail. Julie lives with her husband Kevin and their three daughters in this beautiful villa in Kolding. The Rotpunkt kitchen forms the centre of family life in the home thanks to the statement island that creates an integrated area to sit, dine, and work from home in complete comfort.
“When we were thinking about the interior design of our villa, there was only one yardstick for us: quality, quality and more quality. That is exactly the reason why we chose Rotpunkt Küchen,” says Julie.
The Memory RI door front by Rotpunkt is designed with an oak veneered front, which features a contemporary reeded structure with distinct vertical grooves. Each groove creates added texture, which is further accentuated by the natural raw beauty of the fine textured wood grain and warming characteristics of oak. Designed on a 19 mm base panel with solid wood edging, Memory RI is placing new emphasis on timber finishes and iconic features, which move away from the slab door to welcome modern in-frame and vertical fin design options.
Memory RI is paired with extreme matt, high pressure laminate Clay Dark doors which are hard-wearing to offer a resilient, anti-fingerprint surface that is silky smooth, easy to clean and able to naturally extend the life of kitchen furniture. To complete the look, Rotpunkt coordinates the furniture with matching Clay Dark and Memory RI end panels and flush-fitting plinths, for a truly flawless finish.
For added comfort when working from home, the XTend 910 mm high island unit ensures a comfortable working height when preparing meals and the 780 mm high low-level cutout forms an integrated table solution with plenty of surface space and seating for up to four people.
All Rotpunkt furniture is designed and made under the company’s award-winning Together to Zero climate strategy in order to reduce carbon emissions at every stage of manufacture and create 100% climate-friendly kitchens that do not compromise on style or quality.

Built in 1908, the property offers a view over the fjord; a 10 km long, deep body of water between Kolding and Little Belt.
