BSW GROUP, believed to be the UK’s largest integrated forestry and timber business, is proud to be part of the team behind a brand new children’s book aimed at educating the next generation about sustainability and the role of British timber.
‘Sitka Spruce: The Amazing Timber Tree’ is the latest book by ‘Tales from Mother Earth’, an organisation that aims to educate and empower children to connect with the natural world in a positive way. Available both as a physical picture book and a soundtracked audiobook, this new story is all about the fantastic benefits of timber, and in particular the Sitka Spruce which is the tree of choice across the UK timber industry. Aimed at children from 3 to 10 years old, the heartwarming story explains how Sitka Spruce is grown in managed forests, how it is harvested and turned into timber, and how this sustainable resource is used to construct the world around us.

Jenny Bailey on exactly how Sitka Spruce is cultivated and the process to turn it into timber. Morgan Sindall Construction also shared their experience on how timber is used in the construction industry.
